Chemitex is founded in Brussels. Its activity was limited to only a handful of yarn types.

A new warehouse is opened in Puurs, Belgium - a strategic location that allows Chemitex to drastically shorten lead times for European customers.
Another warehouse and office are opened, this time in Porto, Portugal, boosting Chemitex's reactivity in the south of Europe.
Already having expanded its range from yarns to a vast amount of textiles over the years, Chemitex adds mattress fabrics to its product range.
